Color Management
Color Management
The elusive color match is possible with the right ingredients. Come here when you want to know how scanners, digital cameras, monitors and printers can all work together to reproduce color, and do it predicably and even accurately.

Color Theory and Science
Color Theory & Science
Color Science is where measurements and math meet the human factor. Research is continually underway to refine our systems' attempts to describe the world as our eyes (and brains) see it. Here you will find articles ranging from human color perception to the math that attempts to model it.

Sure it matches but do you like it?

What colors go well together, and why? This category contains all things relating to the artistic use of color.

Glossary
The A-Z of color and color management terms and acronyms.

Industry Groups & Standards
Industry Groups & Standards
Without standards we have no way to exchange information, color or otherwise. Here are links to the major industry groups who publish color and printing specifications.

Manuals
Manuals
This section is specifically designed for product manuals, books and guides for popular color software to be published in the live wiki style. As manuals tend to be copyrighted material the manuals in this section are static documents.

Test Images
Test Images
Effective testing requires good images used well. Evaluating color using only colored patches is not terribly effective as the eye cannot judge colors in such an absolute form. Continuous tone images containing memory colors (flesh tones, plants, sky, some foods) are better as the eye picks up variations much more effectively.

Tools for color management
Tools
Software, graphics hardware, measurement tools - the how to's and how not to's.
