A device for measuring tri-stimulus values like RGB and XYZ.

Colorimeters are often used for monitor calibration and profiling. They read their measurements using three or more filters, which approximate the color receptors of the human eye. Colorimeters are usually considered to be not as accurate as spectrophotometers at measuring the true color characteristics of objects.
