Contents |
To create a new Maxwell Track in the Client
- Click on the plus button File:Plus.jpg
- Choose "Add Maxwell Track."
- If necessary sign in using your username and password.
- Choose your device and track, and click OK.
Measurement targets
To use custom-made targets, click the Open Target Folder link. This opens the proper folder on your operating system into which you can place the reference files for any targets you wish to use. Maxwell Client will accept target references made by the following programs:
- ColorPort
- MeasureTool
For more information about using Maxwell Client to read custom-made targets, go to Measuring your target with Maxwell Client.
Devices
Devices can be printers, presses, or hotfolders which you might want to have tracked in Maxwell.
Clicking on your computer name, will bring up an overview of:
- Your computer name, model and serial number,
- The hotfolders that have been created for your devices, their connection status, and which Maxwell track they are bonded to.
To add a new device:
- Click on the plus sign in the bottom left corner of Maxwell Client.
- Choose a folder to use as a hotfolder. (Create a new folder if necessary.)
Bond Device to Track
Once a device is created, it should be bonded to a Maxwell track. Once a device or hotfolder is bonded to a track, any measurement files that are dropped into this hotfolder will automatically be uploaded into Maxwell.
See How to setup Maxwell to track a printer for more information on creating a track in Maxwell.
Device details
Clicking on a specific device will bring up details about:
- The hotfolder it is assigned to
- The bonding status
- Recent history of files that have been uploaded for this device.
From this pane you can:
- Set the default instrument you will use to take your measurements
- Set your preferred target
- Open the measurement window using the Measure... button.
Displays
Maxwell Client can also be configured to automatically upload monitor profiles.
- Maxwell Client will automatically detect all displays that are connected to your computer.
- Names are assigned according to the display's internal EDID information.
- When a display is disconnected, the display name is grayed out.
- Clicking the Displays heading will show the available displays, whether they are connected and bonded, and which Maxwell track they are bonded to.
Clicking on a specific monitor will bring up details about:
- The name and serial number for the display,
- The calibration expiration settings,
- The bonding status,
- The recent history of monitor profiles that have been uploaded for this display.
