About DisplayWatch
DisplayWatch is the feature of ColorShuttle that can be automatically configured to upload monitor profiles to Maxwell. Maxwell checks profiles for variation and consistency - and can send email notifiers when colors are out of line.
- ColorShuttle will automatically detect all displays that are connected to your computer.
- Names are assigned according to the display's internal EDID information.
- When a display is disconnected, the display name is grayed out.
- Clicking the Displays heading will show the available displays, whether they are connected and bonded, and which Maxwell track they are bonded to.
- At this time, DisplayWatch is only available for Mac computers.
Setting up DisplayWatch
Before DisplayWatch can be activated, the user needs:
- a Maxwell user account
- a Device created (which in this case, will be a 'display', and
- a new Track created in Maxwell.
- (Click on the above links to see detailed instructions how how to do this.)
Bond Track to Display
- Open ColorShuttle on your computer. ColorShuttle will automatically detect all displays that are connected to your computer.
- Click on the display you want to track.
- Click on the Bond to Maxwell Track button to bond the display to the Maxwell track. Browse to the device and track you wish to bond to.
- Click "OK".
The Displays window
Clicking on a specific monitor under "Displays" will bring up details about:
- The name and serial number for the display,
- The calibration expiration settings,
- The bonding status,
- The recent history of monitor profiles that have been uploaded for this display.
Notifiers
Finally, setting up Maxwell Notifiers will allow you to be informed when a new profile falls outside of tolerances for your display. For example, you can set up notifiers to send you an email if the average ∆E difference in a future monitor profile falls outside a certain range.
