Maxwell has the ability to keep track of general and specific equipment types, locations and measurement times, if the user supplies this information. The system allows you to compare data by Equipment, Time and Location. You can create reports that "slices" data according to any of these parameters or any combination of them. These reports are in the form of histograms. Other graphic choices will be made available in the future.
Maxwell's Multi-Dimensional reporting is the business intelligence side of Maxwell. It answers questions on the business side of things. How is this plant doing compared to another plant? How did a group of presses do this month compared to last month, or compared to another group of presses? How did this individual press perform against an average of all the presses? Maxwell is structured in such a way as to make it very easy to pull this information out of your Maxwell data.

Quick Setup
- Log into the Maxwell website.
- Click the "Graphs" link in the left column.
- Click the plus (+) button to create a new Graph.
- Give the Graph a distinctive name.
- Click on Series and add a new Graph Series.
- Give the Series a name,
- Choose a metric that will be reported in this series. All the metrics that have been created in your account will be listed here.
- Specify the Equipment, Time and Location represented by this series
Keep in mind:
- Selections can be further isolated depending on the scope chosen. For example, if you choose equipment according to "Model", you can further refine your selection according to the different models that are in your account.
- If you wish to have the graph continuously refresh only the most recent week, month, quarter, etc., choose a scope of "Recent" and specify day, week, month, etc.
- You have the option of choosing the specific color, shape and weight of the Graph lines, and whether the line will be filled in (shaded).
Note: "Locations" need to be manually set by CHROMiX at this time. If you want a Graph that makes use of Locations, contact CHROMiX tech support and we will set this up for you.
- When your Series Detail settings are complete, refresh the "Graphs" pane to view the changes in your new Graph.
- (This can be done by clicking on the title of the graph, or clicking the refresh icon.)
See other entries in this article for specific descriptions on:
Axis
- <> The X-axis represents the delta E value.
- <> The Y-axis represents the percentage of all the items in the population. (This can be changed to raw numbers by editing in the Graphic Details pane.)

Graph Type
Graph Type allows the choice between different styles of graphs. At this time, Maxwell allows Bar Graphs, Line graphs, Smooth Line graphs and Stepped Line graphs.
Plot Color
The color of the series as it appears in the graph can be customized according to the user's wishes. The color is specified using RGB values, which range from 0 - 255 and are separated by a comma.
RGB color equivalents | |||||
Red | 255,0,0 | ||||
Green | 0,255,0 | ||||
Blue | 0,0,255 | ||||
Magenta | 255,0,255 | ||||
Yellow | 255,255,0 | ||||
Black | 0,0,0 | ||||
Gray | 128,128,128

Sort Order
"Sort order" allows you to change which priority this series will have compared to other series in the graph. For some graph types, identical data might be "hidden" behind a graph element. The default value is 1000. A lower sort order (ie: 900) will place this series:
- <> above other series in the graph legend, and...
- <> in the foreground (placing higher series in the background) of the graph.
Elements in the Graph Details
In cases where the graph displays irrelevant data, the Graph Details pane can be edited to clean up the graph.
Discard Limit
The Discard limit can be used to prevent the graphing of any data beyond a specified point. In this example, a discard limit of 7 would eliminate the extraneous curves between 8 and 30.
This is the same data with the discard limit in place. Note that some of the Xeikon targets have been rejected.
Bin Size
The graphical representation can be made more precise or instead be smoothed by adjusting the BinSize. This will change how wide is each "bin" of the X axis.

A "bin" size of .5 --->
